Birthday Party

Rick left for New Jersey this morning and Katie and I went to a birthday party in Abilene. Rick was home for a whopping 34 hours!

The birthday party was for Cruz. Katie and I met Cruz and his mom at MOPS. The party was at Centennial Park which I have never been to before. Well, the park is one of those big ones with multiple entrances and Abilene State School is also on the grounds. I went in one entrance and promptly got lost. I noticed a white SUV following my every turn. I finally pulled off on a side road and the SUV pulled up along side me. They were looking for the birthday party also. We each consulted our maps and this time I followed the white SUV. We managed to find another entrance which was locked, but that didn't stop us. We drove around the gate because there was an opening in the fence. Yes, that is right. Katie and I broke into the park!

At the party, there were quite a few activities for the kids to enjoy. There were squirt guns, Play Doh and sidewalk chalk, as well as the park's playground. Cruz's parents had put out quite the spread. There was pizza, grapes, chips, lemonade, birthday cake and freeze pops. Katie had a great time and I took a few pictures.

Filling up her squirt gun at the water fountain.

Keeping an eye on the birthday cake. Her hair is wet from one of the many squirt gun battles.

Eating birthday cake.

Watching Cruz open his presents.

After leaving the party, we didn't even get out of Abilene before Katie was fast asleep. I also managed to get her out of her car seat and into her crib where she continued to nap for two hours. All in all, a great day except for the part about Rick having to leave again.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRUZ!!! Thanks for inviting us to your party.
