Golf Cart Thief and Stuck Dog

I've just having one of those days where the best place for me is in bed. Katie and Eric are both being a handful and I seriously feel ganged up on.

On his way out this morning Rick took the garbage container up to the road. I had a few trash cans that I still needed to empty in the house so I gathered that trash up and Katie and I hopped in the golf cart to get rid of those. I parked the golf cart on the apron of the driveway and walked the last twenty feet to the container. My mistake was leaving Katie in the golf cart and not taking the key with me. The next thing I know Katie is in the driver's seat and is barreling towards me, full tilt. I yelled at her to stop and she merely looked at me and smiled. I grabbed a hold of the golf cart and managed to slam on the brake. While doing this maneuver I was sure Katie was going to run over my other foot, but thankfully I was nimble enough to engage the break and hop into the golf cart in one move. She got quite the "what-for" for trying to run me over. This is not the first time and not the first time today that she has attempted to make a break for it in the golf cart. Like closing the barn door after the horses have escaped, I have removed the key from the golf cart and I am going to hang it in the golf cart well out of her reach. However, knowing that little Doodlebug, she may not attempt to drive the golf cart again, but I guarantee I better hide the keys to the cars, truck and van. I can see the headlines now, "Two Year Old Girl Steals Mother's Car and Drives To Wal-Mart."

Oh but the little excursion outside did not end there. When we came back to the house, Eric stuffed himself under the front steps and could not get out. With a lot of pulling and loud voice commands I finally extracted him from underneath the steps. He was so freaked out about being trapped under the steps that he pooped and peed himself, so for the second time today I had to give him a bath.

Well, I'm going to grab a book and crawl into bed.
