(I had to correct the title of this blog because Rick pointed out to me that it is Thursday not Wednesday. I told you yesterday flew by too fast!)
Katie's brain, like all children her age, is a sponge. She retains everything that she hears and sees. For the last couple of weeks her favorite TV programs have been "Dora The Explorer" and "Go, Diego, Go." Well, her sponge brain has learned to count in Spanish.
I actually realized that she could count in Spanish about two weeks ago. One day I heard her counting in English and after each number she was saying something else. It wasn't until I heard "cuatro" that I figured out what she was doing. I was amazed. Neither Rick or I speak Spanish so she learned this from TV. It sure drives home the point that you have to monitor what your child watches on TV. Anyway, the child can count to ten in English and five in Spanish. I think I will also teach her how to count to ten in French, as well as start teaching her French phrases. You know what they say, children can learn a second language a lot quicker and more easily than an adult.
Today's pictures for Rick are of Katie playing with her Play Doh on the breakfast bar.
